My passion for plants, gardens and art has been a lifelong interest. It sounds funny, but many of my mental pictures from childhood are of plants or gardens that were associated with specific places. So, it's no wonder that I've been a gardener and plant-aholic all my life. I've also been an artist for just as long, and as a little kid decided to be an artist "when I grew up".

I arrived in the profession of Landscape Design after some years working as a professional artist. I earned a B.A. in Fine Art from Eastern Illinois University, and have 20+ years of experience in Art and Design. In the 90's, I worked in a Twin Cities design/build landscaping firm, Gardens of Distinction, where I developed my landscape design skills. I have since been a designer for two landscape companies prior to joining The Mustard Seed's design team. I am a Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Certified Professional and have over 12 years of experience in the landscaping industry. And I love to stay educated on the latest plants, materials and ideas. 

As a landscape artist, I enjoy creating outdoor spaces that are aesthetically pleasing as well as natural and sustainable. I have worked on numerous residential projects, both large and small, designing water features, decks, patios and walks, in addition to gardens. My plant palette consists of dwarf conifers, flowering trees and shrubs, and mass displays of perennials, for year round color and interest. I typically incorporate natural stone and contoured raised beds into my mixed garden designs. I believe in personal service and enjoy working closely with clients, listening to their ideas and concerns. I pay attention to details throughout the design and construction process, and I'm frequently at the job site. It's important to me that my work demonstrates integrity, quality and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

The Mustard Seed's vision to "connect people to God's creations" fits with my understanding of the purpose of art: to glorify the One who is the source of all that is beautiful, the Creator and Sustainer of life. I'm pleased to be on The Mustard Seed's design team, a company that is "rooted in integrity and grounded in faith".
