Growing up in a very rural setting where I was the family vegetable gardener and resident home landscaper started my interest and passion for landscape design. Even though the landscape was forested, it was my playground as a child and that is where I gained my respect for plants and how they interact with mankind and our surroundings.
My formalized horticulture education was at the University of Minnesota. I have been associated with horticulture throughout my professional career. Even though I have worked in managing garden centers, helped start two garden centers and had my own landscape/consultation/landscape installation business for a few years, I have always been involved in the landscape design end of the business in the upper Midwest. I have experience in designing landscapes for residences that include water features, patios, retaining walls and plant materials as well as landscape design of commercial and townhouse developments.
I am enjoying my working relationship with The Mustard Seed, Inc. because the company epitomizes my own work ethic. I have always felt that the customer comes first. After all, I am working for the customer and it is important that they get valued and honest information regarding their living space, whether it is a lawn or plant question or doing a detailed design for their home. I always try to design functional as well as aesthetically pleasing living space for my clients.
