Since a young age, I have always wanted to learn how the built environment is constructed. That curiosity along with my love for our Planet made landscape architecture a logical career choice. I began my journey by learning to garden at my parent’s home as well as construct wooden arbors and fencing. After graduating from Chaska High School, I continued my education at the University of Minnesota in Environmental Design. During my undergraduate years, I worked as an intern for two different local design firms which included numerous single home and development projects in the western metro. Upon receiving an accelerated bachelor of Environmental Design degree in 2006, I began my graduate work in landscape architecture and planning.
After three years of living in my design studio I received my master’s degrees in Landscape Architecture and Urban and Regional Planning in 2008. Throughout my graduate years of education, I also gained further design and construction experience as I worked at a multi-disciplinary firm in Minneapolis and landscape restoration organization. In addition to my work as a landscape architect, I am also a planning commissioner for the City of Eden Prairie, the public relations director for the Minnesota Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and a member of the Minnesota Design Team.
My personal interests within the field include artful stormwater management, environmental stewardship and landscape restoration. Currently, I am working towards becoming a registered landscape architect as well as a LEED accredited profession.
