My passion for plants began as a young child, as is often the case with us self-proclaimed plant geeks. Gardens for both beauty and food have been a part of life for generations in my family. The greatest affinity I have is for natural spaces, so most of my gardens at home reflect that “free and easy” style. I received my B.S. in Horticulture from the U. of MN. In 1981 and have worked in the industry since then, mostly in the field doing garden planting and maintenance. I have done a lot of canoe camping up in the Boundary Waters in years past but now keep busy outside of work with family, gardening and volunteering at church.
