The Mustard Seed Garden Center offers classes and hands-on workshops for both children and adults throughout the year. Designed to provide “something for everyone,” group workshop sessions cover a variety of horticulture topics that provide useful and practical information no matter what your level of gardening experience. Perfect for gardening groups, kids’ birthday parties or a girls’ night out – pick a workshop or class and grow!

Container Gardening Tips & Take Home

Wednesday, March 22

Come join us on Thursday April 20th, 2023 for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to successfully grow vegetables in containers. We will discuss which soil to use, the various types of containers you can grow in, and the space requirements needed for the vegetables you will plant.

This workshop is ideal for:

  • Renters who may want to take their gardens with them when they move.

  • Those who have gopher problems.

  • Plots with poor soil or other disease issues.

  • Apartment, condo, & townhome dwellers who don't have ground to grow in.

  • Gardeners with large decks who would like to grow vegetables in pots rather than the standard landscape container plants.

Each participant will drill holes in their Growing Pail and plant it up with soil and their choice of carrots, zucchini or green bean seeds. Light refreshments will be provided.
