CANCELED -Bonsai Tour

Saturday, September 14

Register Here: https://www.themustardseedinc.com/workshops/bonsai-tour

The class will start the session by touring the nursery area talking about what makes good material and the instructor will assist with choosing a tree/ shrub. Each student will purchase their personally selected plant then gather inside the greenhouse and do the initial work to clean up the plant and reveal the bonsai. This is a one day class, with no repotting. Only the discovery of the buttress and nebari for the base of the tree. The instructor will provide the tools and workshop tubs required for the class however students are welcome to bring their own tools if they would like. The tour of the nursery will start about 10:00am. The sooner the students find and select a suitable plant material the sooner the classroom portion can begin.

This classroom session will entail cleaning the dirt from the base of the tree or shrub and cleaning up the inner foliage to reveal the bonsai within. Some wiring could be done, with a $10.00 materials fee.

This is not an introduction class but more as a follow up for previous students to create an additional tree, as the focus will be more on styling than on bonsai history and terminology however new students are certainly welcome.
